The need for the National Eligibility Completion Entrance Test (NEET) 2022 to be postponed is rising every day. Neeraj Kundan, president of the National Students Union of India (NSUI), recently requested a postponement of the medical entrance test in a letter to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, claiming that it is being conducted in “a rush.”
The minister was requested in the letter, which was posted by NSUI on the social networking site Twitter, to delay the NEET UG 2022 by at least 45 days. The students’ organization has requested that the education minister postpone the medical test, citing the NEET 2021 counseling process’s delay and the collision with other national-level examinations like CUET and JEE Main.
The letter also noted that the NEET 2021 counseling process had been delayed and that many applicants had been rejected in the previous round. For these students, it would be challenging to prepare for the medical entrance exam in such a short period of time. It stated, “It is unjust that the following exam is finished in such haste.
NEET will be held on July 17 in between the CUET, which will begin on July 15 and go until August 10. The second JEE Main session is also expected to take place next month. The students union has stated that “all these tests are career-deciding” due to the back-to-back exams.” It is impossible for pupils to focus properly since they can only take the NEET exam once and because it is administered between these tests.”
NEET 2022 has previously been postponed at the request of the India Wide Parents Association in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It had stated that because of the delayed state counseling for the NEET-UG test and the board examinations, kids were not given enough time to study. The committee also stated that the exam would not hinder the start of the new academic year because the new session will begin in February 2023.
