The Great Lakes Institute Of Management In Gurgaon Begins A New Academic Year

Great Lakes College of Management, Gurgaon, a prominent management institution, recently began the academic year for the class of 2018–19 of its Post Graduate Programme in Management at a ceremony held at its Manesar campus (PGPM). Speaking at the event was the honorable chief guest, Mr. Avnish Sabharwal, MD of Accenture Ventures & Open Innovation, and India Mentor of Change, Atal Innovation Mission.

In front of the board of directors, Dr. Debashis Sanyal, Director, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon, Mr. Mohan Lakhamraju, Vice Chairman, Great Lakes Institute of Management and Founder, Great Learning, and Dr. Umashankar Venkatesh, Director, PGPM, and Professor (Marketing), Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon, the ceremony began with the lighting of an auspicious lamp by the honorable chief guest.

Avnish Sabharwal spoke to the freshmen class about disruption in the digital age and innovation. Additionally, he said that “the combinational effect of technologies like artificial intelligence, augmented learning, data analytics, blockchain, etc. is what is causing the disruption in corporate operations. Platform companies like Google, Uber, Facebook, Airbnb, and others are replacing traditional value chain businesses. Therefore, all businesses must embrace technology and the digital revolution in order to flourish. Since they will become future leaders and entrepreneurs, students must be adaptable enough to understand these disruptive technologies and all the alterations and adjustments they bring about in the business world.

Dr. Debashis Sanyal, who welcomed the new group, stated, “Great Lakes has a history of naming every new batch after a renowned warrior clan because we want to instill in our students the warrior spirit and the enthusiasm with which they battle fiercely in any circumstance. The PGPM class of this year will be referred to as “Ninjas.” The phrase describes a method that gives people the capacity to perform tasks that would otherwise be impossible. He also stated his belief that the knowledge Ninjas will acquire at Great Lakes, Gurgaon, will enable them to achieve new heights. In relation to the course offerings, Dr. Sanyal said that Great Lakes, Gurgaon, is a modern business school for modern enterprises.

In fact, is a trailblazer in the use of business analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning into the curriculum. We will put more of an emphasis this year on soft skills like oral and writing communication.
