The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the largest human resource management organization in the world, has designated the University of Phoenix as a Recertification Provider, allowing it to offer programs that are eligible for recertification credits for the SHRM-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credentials.
As a part of the network of SHRM Recertification Providers, the University of Phoenix will be qualified to award professional development credits (PDCs) for its courses that relate to the SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge.
“The Society for Human Resource Management welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with the University of Phoenix to provide high-quality educational opportunities to HR professionals who have earned their SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certifications,” said Alex Alonso, SHRM-SCP, SHRM’s Chief Knowledge Officer.
After years of research to define the behavioral competencies and knowledge relevant to today’s global HR professionals, the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP exams were launched in 2015. The SHRM BASK serves as the foundation for certification exams.
“Achieving SHRM recertification provider status is another example of how University of Phoenix professional development works to be aligned with the needs of today’s working professionals and employers,” said Mukund Sudarsan, vice president and general manager of Professional Development at University of Phoenix. “With the ability to grant PDCs, professional development becomes a significant resource for all HR professionals.”
