The Center for People in Need offers assistance to those seeking technical training in the pursuit of a profession in the field. The EduTech Google Certificate program is a new product from the Center for People. Four areas of study—data analytics, IT support, project management, and user experience design—are all offered as certificates.
Google has given 300 certificate scholarships to the Center for People in Need, which will be given out over the course of the following three years. The coordinator of EduTech claims that some businesses view the qualifications as being equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
They choose one of four qualifications to work on and complete it at their own pace.
EduTech coordinator Katherine Najjar said, “EduTech is predicated on two things: an ARPA grant from the city of Lincoln, which essentially pays for me, and any more children who enter the program. We offer a room full of free household and personal products for them to use. They receive food boxes every week, transportation vouchers, and coupons for child care. They can utilize our computer lab as well.
To be eligible for EduTech, applicants must be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the United States, and have a household income of at least 200 percent of the federal poverty line. They must also be able to read English.
The healthcare platform was listed on the stock market in February of last year, but since then, the share price has fallen below the $24 IPO price. In order to focus on “more profitable” endeavors, the firm stated earlier this year that it will likely liquidate one of its divisions as a result of changes made to a government payment structure.
