The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, one of India’s premier engineering schools, will soon now offer management degrees. An MBA program in data science and AI has been introduced by the IIT. In the fall of 2022, the two-year, full-time master’s program will start. By emphasizing the integration of data science and artificial intelligence into numerous business and management areas as well as a significant emphasis on managerial decision-making, this program varies from other technology-oriented programs like BTech, and MTech/MS. The program is intended to produce “future-ready corporate leaders with technology and managerial competence,” according to IIT.
According to the IIT, teachers from several IIMs and IITs as well as other professionals were contacted when developing the curriculum for the new course. Undergraduate students from all backgrounds who have studied mathematics up to the class 12 level are eligible for the MBA in data science and AI. The application window is now open, and it will close on July 17. The CAT score will be used to evaluate applications.
The advisory boards of the School of Management at IIT Mandi include a wide spectrum of professionals from both academia and business. Both internal and external topic experts would instruct the courses. For its academic and research activities, the School of Management is actively pursuing partnerships with other management colleges inside and outside of India, according to an official release from the IIT.
According to the IIT, this degree program will incorporate modern management theories, soft skills, a variety of data science tools, as well as managerial decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
The newly launched MBA in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence program makes me feel really proud, according to Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, Director of IIT Mandi. In line with IIT Mandi’s mission statement, this MBA program seeks to develop management leaders who are prepared for the challenges of the future in business and academia. In addition to preparing students to identify business areas where Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning may offer value and serve as inputs for algorithm developers and data analysts, the curriculum will position students to translate data into better business choices.
