Amazon has opted to use the EdTech platform Springboard to provide its Career Choice Program. A benefit of education is Professional Choice, which gives Amazonians the opportunity to expand their professions by learning new skills through technical training and career advancement programs.
Springboard will offer specialized training to help Amazon employees be ready to move into high-growth, in-demand roles in data analytics and software engineering.
“We’re happy to be joining Career Choice and working together to deliver outsized effect for Amazon employees throughout the country,” said Gautam Tambay, CEO and co-founder of Springboard.
We are honored to participate in a progressive shift toward a workplace that is focused on people and their goals. This partnership is a logical progression from our goal of making a million lives better by 2030.
All qualified Amazon employees in the US will be able to sign up with Springboard starting in November, and programs will begin early in 2019. “We are committed to providing educational opportunities in a variety of topic areas to our staff employees.
According to Tammy Thieman, global director for Career Choice at Amazon, one way to do this is through providing individuals with access to educational opportunities and chances to reskill in high-growth digital industries.
The program’s objective is to expand participants’ career opportunities, with a focus on preparing fulfillment center employees for employment in the rapidly evolving digital industry.
It is critical to provide new pathways for people to seek IT occupations due to a continuous labor shortage since employment in the industry is anticipated to grow at a pace twice1 that of the national average over the next ten years.
