The XJTLU Wisdom Lake Academy of Pharmacy was established by the Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in China.
This institution will also house a number of research centers, including the Pharmaceutical Informatics and Data Science Institute and the XJTLU-UoL Pharmacology Research Centre.
The University of Liverpool, a parent institution of XJTLU, is supporting the Academy, and it will also get help from the Suzhou government and other partners in the biopharmaceutical sector.
By pooling their resources, the institutions hope to create the XJTLU Offshore Innovation Centre for Emerging Technologies.
The organization launched the XJTLU Learning Mall earlier this year, creating China’s first simultaneous online and on-site “learning ecosystem.”
2000 students will be enrolled at the XJTLU Academy of Pharmacy by 2026
The University will admit its first group of students for the academic year beginning in 2021, with intentions to admit 2,000 students by the year 2026.
The Academy will feature three departments (Biopharmaceuticals, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Pharmacy), each of which will provide eight master’s degrees in addition to doctorate programs.
Vice President of XJTLU Dr. Yimin Ding stated: “The biopharmaceutical business is one of the fastest-growing industries worldwide. A lot of opportunities for cross-discipline collaboration exist in this dynamic business as a result of the advancements in nanotechnology and artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence will be one of the new academy’s primary study fields, along with pharmaceutics, the creation of innovative therapeutic drugs, and clinical pharmacy.
It is time, in the opinion of Professor Youmin Xi, Executive President of XJTLU, for universities to redefine who they are and alter how they engage with society and the community.
The second edition of the XJTLU is built on bringing in resources from the industry and the outside world to the university to develop a new educational model that combines knowledge from several fields, according to Xi, who views the existing XJTLU as Version 1.0, a traditional university. As XJTLU Version 2.0, we created XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang).
