The British Youth International College (BYITC) is known for its cutting-edge math, English, and programming programs. The Cyber Security program at the online school is now open to students of all ages.
Dr. Rashmi Mantri founded the BYITC in 2015 after seeing her son’s arithmetic abilities needed improvement. Rashmi, a self-employed software engineer and IT trainer with a Ph.D. in computer science, made the decision to teach her child how to operate an abacus on her own. The strategy was successful, and her son’s increased math skills weren’t disregarded.
Other parents begged Rashmi to teach their kids the abacus method, so she started an after-school tuition program. Since then, it has developed into a hugely prosperous multinational business that educates thousands of students throughout the globe. To accommodate the growing number of students registering in Rashmi’s virtual classroom, the world’s first online abacus math learning tool was developed at BYITC.
The Cyber Security program, the school’s most recent initiative, was launched in May 2022. The program’s objective is to educate young people on life skills that will help them be safe online and greatly enhance their resumes. According to Rashmi, demand for cyber security professionals would only grow in the coming years.
She said, “Today, everything is digital. We cannot overlook the fact that everything is online right now, especially in the aftermath of the outbreak. Additionally, as society becomes more digital, cyber dangers will arise. People must be aware of internet security precautions.
The curriculum, which is intended for pupils between the ages of 12 and 18, includes both an advanced course with 40 themes and a foundation course for novices. Small groups of students attend biweekly classes on topics including malware, ethical hacking, coding, and mobile security.
When the training is over, students can take part in a virtual Capture the Flag competition. This encourages participants to learn and use the skills they have gained in the Cyber Security course.
The interactive challenge is open to students between the ages of 12 and 22. In a series of problem-solving situations, participants are required to find security solutions for various cyber threats. Participants who successfully fix the cyber security problem gain Flags, which influence their ranking and chance of receiving awards.
The school’s flexible approach to teaching is exemplified by its continued offering of the Cyber Security course. It was created in response to the need to teach young people how to use the Internet safely in a digital environment that is continuously evolving. This flexible, student-centered strategy, in Rashmi’s opinion, has contributed to BYITC’s success.
She said, “I want British Youth International College to be the most trusted name in the education sector. a company with which parents are accustomed and comfortable entrusting the future of their kids.
