The Education Minister Of Australia Has Called For Increased Australia-India Research Collaboration

    The Minister met with leaders from the Australian Government, academics from Monash University, and members of the Australia Indian Chamber of Commerce during a discussion on ‘Emerging Opportunities for Collaboration in Education, Research, and Skill Sectors.’

    Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education and Skill Development, met with academic leaders from the top Group of Eight (G08) Australian institutions today to discuss ways to foster successful Australia-India research collaboration.

    The Minister spoke on the occasion, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s theme of “Jai Anusandhan,” which he added to the term “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisaan, Jai Vigyan” in his 76th Independence Day address. He claimed that this will be the centerpiece and the cornerstone of India’s economic success for the next decade and beyond. The Minister stated that India intends to pool all of its resources in order to make this decade India’s Technode while being self-sufficient. He stated that expanding scientific cooperation with India is a win-win situation for all parties.

    Pradhan went on to remark that India and Australia might collaborate on science. He welcomed the eight universities and encouraged them to deepen their research collaborations while also taking advantage of new opportunities to fulfill mutual and national interests and give scalable solutions to global challenges.

    The Minister also met with leaders from the Australian Government, professors from Monash University, and members of the Australia Indian Chamber of Commerce during the discussion on ‘Emerging Opportunities for Collaboration in Education, Research, and Skill Sectors.’ According to the Minister, the Prime Minister has stressed evidence-based research and has established the mottos ‘Lab-to-Land’ and ‘Land-to-Lab’ to ensure humanity’s growth, welfare, and well-being. India is making tremendous efforts at all levels to encourage curiosity-driven research and innovation.

    Pradhan also got into a heated debate with Indian students in Melbourne. He was happy to hear about their academic credentials and claimed that their perspectives on making India a knowledge superpower had enriched him.
